Three cards are easier to connect when each has a clear role. On TarotHush, the general reading uses your situation, what to notice, and your next step. This is our chosen framework, rather than a rule that every tarot reading must follow.
Set the positions before drawing
Write one question and keep it in mind. Read the first card as a prompt about your current situation. Use the second to explore an overlooked detail or assumption. Let the third suggest an action you can consider. Setting these roles first helps you avoid changing the interpretation just to get the answer you wanted.
An example you can work through
Try: “What would help me begin a creative project?” Imagine drawing The Fool, Strength, and The Magician. You might connect beginnings with taking a small first step, patience with making the task manageable, and agency with using a skill you already have. These are possible reflections, not a forecast of success.
A useful next step could be: “I will spend twenty minutes drafting an outline, using the tools I already own.” Notice how that turns a broad theme into something observable.
Connect the cards without forcing a story
For each position, finish this sentence: “This makes me think about…” Then compare your answers. If a card does not resonate, say so. You can record a question instead of inventing certainty. Check the reading against what you actually know about your situation.
Finish with one choice
Keep a short note of the question, cards, and one action. Revisit what happened after you acted. You can learn from that record without treating every outcome as proof that the cards predicted it.
